Free and Open Source Alternatives - Alex Albl
We all have used freeware, shareware and open source software at some point in our computing careers. Applications such as Gimp, Open Office, Medi Monkey - and many other odd-named but very useful programs are available for free, or cheap, and give you the capabilites of software normally costing 100's of dollars.
Alex Albl will conduct the August presentation about freeware and open source applications that are alternative to normally purchased software. Alex will be covering some of the more popular alternatives to Microsoft Office, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, WinRAR and even an alternative to Windows OS. He will also review some of the copyright and copyleft laws and GPL licensing and explain the idea behind open source.New Location - The Same As The Last Location
