Our program this month will feature two presentations on a topic that has got to be on everyone’s mind at this time of year: Taxes. Our Presenters are Joe Clark and Greg Johns.
Joe is an active member and officer of this club. He is a CPA and Individual Tax Accountant who prepares a number of tax returns each year at this time for his clients.
Joe will describe his recommended approach to tracking individual income and anticipated tax exemptions throughout the year. He will demo his Excel Spreadsheet overlay that can be used to track tax related income and expenses as they occur so that in March or April you can simply “fill in the blanks” on TurboTax and complete your tax filing with a minimum of trouble.
Greg Johns works for CliftonLarsonAllen – CPAs, one of the nationally recognized “Top Ten” accounting firms. Greg focuses on individual and business tax work. Because his clients depend on him for tax strategies going forward each year he keeps a wary eye on the expected tax changes from one year to the next. As you might expect this involves the consequences of legislative activity and the viewpoint of the executive branch of government. Greg has 35 plus years experience in the business to draw on.
Greg’s presentation will review where we are and where we might be headed in terms of tax policy and legislation. He will discuss what he believes to be common misperceptions about who pays what taxes. In addition, he will take anybody’s questions about most anything tax related that they might find interesting.
Please join us. The PC Club of Charlotte (PCCC/PC3) meets the second Thursday of each month at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203. The meeting gets under way promptly at 7:00pm. We generally start with a Question and Answer (Q&A) session to help our members with those “Brick Wall” problems we all occasionally face. Following that we have a presentation on a topic of interest to users of computers and other forms if today’s technology. The programs and discussions wrap up by 9:00pm.
In addition to our General Meeting at 7:00pm we get together for dinner at 5:45pm. We hold our “Eating before the Meeting” at the church. Six to ten folks generally show up, have supper and talk tech until time to start the General Meeting. When we meet at the church the club provides iced tea and cookies for desert. Anything else, pizza, burger, sandwich will have to be brought in by the participants. We suggest that everyone interested stop on their way to the meeting to buy themselves diner at the Sandwich Shop, Fuel Pizza, McDonalds, etc. and bring it with them to the church.
