At the meeting 11/11 I raised the question that, even though I made a point of updating my Norton Antivirus 2003 immediately before I installed SP2, Security Center was still reporting that it knew nothing about my antivirus protection. As of 11/14, Norton has pushed an update that finally talks to Security Center eliminating the nag.
The MS rep didn't have any specific knowledge about this problem, but suggested generally that Security Center may not be able to identify third-party applications that were installed before SP2. If you have a problem with your antivirus or firewall not being recognized, uninstall and reinstall it. I make no promises how this will impact any customization you might have had in the program. I do know that Norton will still remember your original subscription expiration date.
